About the role

About Us We are a live, fast-growing student lifestyle and loyalty platform in Jordan. With thousands of active redemptions and a growing network of merchants, our technology spans a consumer-facing mobile app and robust internal operational portals. We are looking for a hungry, capable engineering intern to join us this summer to ship real features, optimize our internal tools, and directly impact our day-to-day operations. The Role As a Software Engineer Intern, you won't be working on isolated sandbox projects. You will be fully embedded in our engineering lifecycle. You will split your time between expanding our core mobile application and building out features for our internal portals (admin dashboards, CRM components, and merchant-facing tools). Key Responsibilities Mobile Feature Development: Build, test, and deploy new user-facing features directly into our mobile application layout, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience. Internal Portals & CRM: Develop and optimize features for our internal admin and operations dashboards, helping our team manage data, track analytics, and automate workflows. Full-Stack Integration: Write clean, modular components on the frontend and connect them seamlessly to our backend services and database infrastructure. Bug Squashing & Performance: Dive into the existing codebase to diagnose issues, optimize queries, and ensure both the app and the portals run flawlessly. Our Tech Stack (What you'll work with) To hit the ground running, you should have academic or project experience with: Frontend & Mobile: React and/or React Native (highly preferred). Backend: Node.js framework for building scalable APIs. Database & Cloud: Familiarity with relational/non-relational databases and basic cloud workflows (e.g., GCP, Supabase, or Firebase). Version Control: Solid understanding of Git/GitHub branching and pull requests. Qualifications & Requirements Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (3rd or 4th year preferred). Strong foundational knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript. Prior experience building a full-stack project (even a personal or university project) is a huge plus. A "get things done" mindset—you love diving into documentation, figuring out how things work under the hood, and problem-solving independently. What’s in it for You? High-Impact Portfolio: You’ll leave this summer with live, production-grade features on your resume that are actively being used by thousands of students and local businesses. True Startup Experience: Learn how a live product scales, manages active redemptions, and iterates based on real-time operational data. Stipend: Financial compensation for your dedication and work.

Requirements

  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript: The foundational language for the entire ecosystem. They must understand async programming, ES6+ syntax, and array methods.
  • React (Frontend & Dashboards): Solid understanding of components, hooks (useState, useEffect), and managing state. They will need this to build and update the internal portals and web views.
  • React Native (Mobile App): Basic familiarity with mobile components, navigation, and rendering views for mobile screens to help implement user-facing app features.
  • Node.js (Backend & APIs): Understanding how to read, modify, and build RESTful API endpoints that connect the frontend features to the server.
  • Git & GitHub: Absolute comfort with basic branching, committing, pushing, and creating Pull Requests (PRs). They cannot be afraid of collaborative version control.

Skills

Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT fieldDatabase Foundations: A basic understanding of how relational databases (SQL) or document stores (NoSQL) operate, and how to perform simple queries.Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive attitude. Because they will work on a live product with active redemptions, they need to be comfortable diving into an existing codebase, reading documentation, and testing their code thoroughly before requesting a review.
